You may be wondering just what that activity is around our History Center. At long-last the funding has come through to allow the Recreation and Park Board to move forward on paving the parking lot adjacent to the Center. This is a major step that will mutually benefit folks visiting both the park and our History Center. Well done!

I VISITED THE PARK THIS PAST WEEK TO SEE MY GRANDFATHERS TILE ALONG THE PATH ONLY TO FIND THAT IT IS NOT THERE. MY MOTHER SPOKE TO A WORKER AT THE MUSEUM AND TOLD HER THAT THEY WERE TOLD THAT THEY DUG UP THREE TILES BY ACCIDENT. WHEN WILL THESE TILES BE REPLACED

This Place Matters Community Challenge
This summer, we’ve created the This Place Matters Community Challenge to help nonprofit preservation organizations like yours start a conversation about what matters in your community -- along with the chance to win a $25,000 cash award! But the cash is just a way to get your attention. The real prize is sparking a movement in your neighborhood, town, city, or state to embrace historic places – or maybe just one. Because that’s where preservation starts. With one place, in one community.
The This Place Matters challenge will build visibility for your organization and help grow your list of fans and friends. We can even provide a free way for your newfound friends to donate to your organization online if you can’t take donations yourself.
Visit www.preservationnation.org/thisplacematters to learn more and fill out your application to participate. Have questions? Email ThisPlaceMatters@nthp.org.
